Let's worship ! ~ Written on Sunday April 15th

I love days where you feel as if all is right. Today was definitely one of those days. My family has been able to enjoy the presence of the Lord all day today. Started this morning at church and still going strong even now as I write. We continue to be in a heart of worship with songs of praise playing softly. I love hearing my son or husband walk around doing their miscellaneous activities and singing to our father in heaven. God is so good and deserves our praise. I have been encouraged and challenged by the holy spirit to cultivate a spirit of worship daily in our home. When we invite the holy spirit to dwell with us and choose to walk in a attitude of worship and praise it completely changes the tone of the home. In a day where the world tries to bring us and our children down at every turn we need to deliberately and consciously make a effort to walk in the presence of God. I once heard someone say we live in a time where entertainment has replaced worship in the home. How sad but true this is. I do not want this to be a truth for my family. My desire is to cultivate a heart of worship in my son. We need to raise up a generation of worshippers ! Remember as Gods children we were created to do this very thing !

Getting back into the groove

Today we have been trying to get back into the groove of school after a nice relaxing Easter break. My parents have been down visiting and we have been blessed with some great days ! They are still here but we decided to start school up again. I am taking a different approach to the rest of the year. I have been homeschooling for almost 5 years now. I have a habit of getting myself stressed and overwhelmed with thinking we have to do 10 x's more then everyone else. I realized I do this to myself because I feel as a homeschooling family we are so scrutinized and judged by others. I am gonna work on a daily basis of releasing that pressure and remembering why we chose to home school to begin with. I am gonna find ways to hold Chad's interest more. I also want to focus more on topics that Chad is interested in. This way I can encourage a love of learning. Most importantly I want to take advantage of these days I have with my son for I will never have these days again. Days that we can spend laughing, learning and sharing love. Days that we will one day look back on as our memories.

Keep on blogging about Life as it is .....

I have used this blog more consistently at times then others to help keep others updated on our lives. The past few years God has taken us through so many places and a blog seemed the easiest way to do updates. I am believing that we are now in a more permanent place. ( well permanent for now and as our life here on earth can be ). I am going to try and start blogging again ( more consistently ). Even though we are settled in ( sorta....still have boxes of stuff I don't know what to do with ! ) I am just going to blog about out our life here in a small South Carolina town. You know our LIFE AS IT IS ..... A life of homeschooling, cleaning, baking, sports, church events, community outreach, day trips to the beach, ext. Just a place where I can be real and maybe bring a smile or word of encouragement to someone.
